01How the AI Coach works
The AMG AI Coach uses OpenAI's API to generate responses about athletic training, technique, workouts, recovery, nutrition, and AMG Athletes app support. Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and are not written or reviewed by a human before you see them.
The feature uses automated safety moderation and limited conversation context. It may refuse content that is unsafe, abusive, illegal, sexually explicit, or outside the app's training purpose.
02Message allowances
Free accounts can send up to 2 AI Coach messages per monthly period, counted from the date the account was created. AMG Pro members can send up to 300 AI Coach messages per monthly period, counted from the date the subscription started. Unused messages do not carry over.
Free accounts share one overall monthly AI Coach budget, and AMG Pro members share another, so the AI Coach can be temporarily unavailable before your own allowance is used up. Program access given by AMG Athletes without a purchase does not change your AI allowance.
04AI assessment reports
When a signed-in user completes the Physical Assessment, the app asks for permission before requesting an AI-generated report unless the user already granted the same current OpenAI-sharing permission through AI Coach. Only after permission does the request send the assessment type, position, experience level, and scores. It excludes the user's name, age, sex, training goal, email address, account ID, profile, and purchase history. Choosing Not now keeps the standard on-device report and sends no assessment data to OpenAI.
The Physical Assessment is available to AMG Pro members, with up to 5 reports per calendar month (Cairo time).
The assessment form and scores are stored with the user's assessment history. The generated report is guidance only, does not determine eligibility, ranking, access, employment, insurance, healthcare, or any other legal or similarly significant decision, and can be disregarded by the user.
05Storage and feedback
AMG Athletes does not provide server-side AI chat history. The app keeps up to 20 conversations and up to 60 messages per conversation locally on your device so you can read them later. Stored conversations are for display only and are not automatically sent back to OpenAI as context in a later session. You can delete individual chats, and reinstalling the app or moving to another device starts with no saved chat history. Any workout you deliberately save is also stored locally on your device.
If you report or rate an AI response, AMG Athletes may store the rating and relevant prompt and response with your account for safety review and product improvement. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the API customer opts in, and may retain API prompts and responses for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring under its standard API controls, subject to legal and safety exceptions.
06Your choice and control
OpenAI sharing is optional. Declining does not block training videos, programs, profiles, competitions, purchases, the standard on-device assessment report, or other non-AI features.
You can withdraw the shared AI permission at any time in Account Settings. No more AI Coach or assessment data is sent to OpenAI unless you later send another AI Coach message under the policies linked below the composer or choose Allow when the assessment permission appears. If this policy changes materially, AMG Athletes will provide any notice or renewed choice required by law or platform rules.
07Safety limits
AI responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your body, skill level, equipment, or surroundings. Check the advice, use proper supervision, and stop immediately if an activity causes pain, dizziness, breathing difficulty, or unusual symptoms.
The AI Coach and assessment report are not medical devices and are not doctors, dietitians, emergency services, or substitutes for qualified coaches or healthcare professionals. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any disease or medical condition and must not be used for medication, rehabilitation clearance, emergencies, or decisions that could cause serious harm. Contact local emergency services for urgent help.
